Capital Campaign Ministry
Organization and oversight of an intensive fundraising initiative directed at achieving the financial goals to Inhabit the Land. Committees include promotion, publicity, connection, telephone, prayer and follow-up.
Produces media to reach the congregation and our community to inspire, inform, and invite participation in the life, mission, and purposes of the Church.
Council of Ministries
Oversees all ministry heads and pastoral designee involvement in the collaboration, coordination, and dissemination of programs, policies, information, and other business of the Church.
Provides duplication, sales, and distribution of quality audiovisual products from worship services and other ministry events.
Provides oversight of various aspects related to the skillful management of the financial health of the Church. Includes the Church Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Finance Clerks, Finance Team, and Capital Campaign.
Identifies and implements technology that supports church operations and defines, communicates, and enforces information technology standards.
Media Ministry
Provides audiovisual support throughout the Church with an emphasis on needs related to the Sanctuary.
New Member Care Ministry
Administers new member process including registering new and reinstated members, starting the formal welcome letter, assisting with New Members Orientation Classes, follow up, and the formal recognition process.
Transportation Ministry
Provides transportation to those in need to designated worship services and activities of the church.
Trustee Ministry
Serves the Pastor and Church by performing all fiduciary matters while serving as legal representatives of the Church.
Wedding Ministry
Assists couples in the planning of their special day to enter into holy matrimony to assure that all church facility details are coordinated to aid the couple in a happy and memorable ceremonial start to their new lives together.

Bereavement Ministry
Assists family representative concerning funeral or memorial services of members to assure that all service and church ministry visitation details are coordinated to aid the bereaved family in their time of need.
Deacon Ministry
Activities related to serving the Pastor in advancing the general interests and spiritual oversight of the church, continually being watchful and helpful in any way necessary to free the Pastor for his God-given duties. Baptism assistance, Lord’s Supper serving, sick and shut-in visitation, and benevolence administration are major focuses of this ministry.
Deaconess Ministry
Activities related to serving the Pastor in visiting and care of the sick and distressed members of the Church while aiding in the ordinances of the church with Baptism candidate and Lord’s Supper preparation and serving assistance.
Doctors’ & Nurses’ Guild
Supports and assists the congregation through the gift of help and ministering to those in need with a goal to promote health and well-being through education and information for the Church and community. Responsible for the bi-annual health fair.
Food Service Ministry
Operates the church kitchen and provides quality food service for designated events such as WOW, annual days, meetings, receptions, and funerals as requested.
Greeters Ministry
Ensures the warm welcoming of all members, guests, and first-time visitors at Church services and other designated events. The Greeters also act as hostesses for various events throughout the year.
Mission
Coordinates outreach programs such as feeding the homeless, drives for clothing, food, and other needs. Also represents Metropolitan in First United Baptist District Association Mission activities.
Music Ministry
Develops and directs the comprehensive music program of the church including all choirs, praise teams, Men’s and Women’s choruses, soloists, and instrumental musicians.
Parking Lot Ministry
Provides for the orderly management of parking areas including directing traffic in a safe and efficient manner and watching for the safety of parking lot guests.
Security Ministry
Oversight of church attendee, property safety, and security matters including monitoring worship services, meetings, events, parking lot, and emergency plans.
Performing Arts Ministry
Inclusive of actors, praise dancers, mimes, and others engaged in drama and fine arts, this ministry is responsible for creating and directing productions, presentations, and activities related to worship, Black History Month, Easter, and Christmas.
Prayer Ministry
Responsible for the comprehensive prayer ministry of the church including intercession and individual prayer requests.
Prison Ministry
Activities related to ministering to prisoners and their families through Bible study programs in prisons and juvenile detention centers as well as mentoring programs for the children of prisoners. Correspondence and card ministry is also part of this ministry.
Usher Ministry
Responsible for the seating, comfort, and direction of the congregation as well as distribution of programs and church bulletins at Church services and other designated events.
Vacation Bible School
Weeklong biblical education session to create or foster a greater connection with God while providing an outreach opportunity for children.
Discipleship
Children’s Ministry
Ministry for children age Pre-K through 5th grade with a goal to ensure that children learn Biblical truths, discipleship, service participation, and social skills through fun and age-appropriate activities on Wednesday night, Sundays, the holiday season, and other appropriate times.
Baby Dedication Ministry
Prepares for service moments where babies 12 months or younger are dedicated to the Lord and presented to the church for watch care. Parents or grandparents who are members may request this ministry.
Crossroads Ministry
Ministry for ages 18 to 35 with an emphasis on personal, social, and spiritual development. Fellowship, service, religious education, and providing support to the Children’s and Youth Ministries are major focuses of this ministry.
Ladies of Purpose
Activities for young women ages 18 to 30 focused on fellowship, volunteerism, and outreach involvement.
Men’s Ministry
Activities for adult men focused spiritual and personal empowerment while increasing social, community, and church involvement and unity of the Church’s male population. The Brotherhood and Men of Valor are part of this ministry.
Men of Valor Study Group
Discipleship activities including the regular study of God’s Word and prayer to aid men in their growth in Christ.
Met Fusion
Ministry for young adults ages 30 to 45 with an emphasis on personal and spiritual development. Fellowship, volunteerism, and providing support to the Children’s Ministry are focuses of this ministry.
Metro Seniors Ministry
Activities for seniors focused on fellowship, volunteerism, and outreach involvement.
Nursery Ministry
Coordination and operation of the Church Nursery that provides quality and loving child care services to infants and toddlers for designated events at the Church.
Scholarship Ministry
Administers scholarship program that supports and encourages members and others as approved who are attempting to further their education post high school to reach their academic and spiritual goals.
Sunday School Ministry
Educational ministry based on sound Biblical principles with classes that are evangelistically driven with an age-appropriate design to produce stronger and more useful followers of Christ.
Women’s Discipleship
Discipleship activities including the regular study of God’s Word and prayer to aid women in their growth in Christ.
Women’s Enrichment
Social and fellowship activities such as ladies night out, retreats, seminars, and other activities to aid women in expanding their social and personal development.
Women’s Literature Ministry
Literary and social activities for women with a passion for reading and sharing time together discussing contemporary life, cultural, and social issues.
Women’s Ministry
Activities for adult women focused on spiritual and personal empowerment while increasing social, community, and church involvement as well as unity of the Church’s female population. Groups include Deaconess, Mission, Women’s Discipleship, Women’s Enrichment, Women’s Literature, and Ladies of Purpose.
Youth Ministry
Ministry for youth ages 12 to 18 with an emphasis, working through the church and the family, to inspire young people to live for Christ and be like Him by providing Bible Study, retreats, fellowships, service, worship service participation, and life topic education opportunities.
